Highlights
- Two solar contract exits remove land-constrained projects from ACEN’s development pipeline.
- Neither project had reached a final investment decision, limiting the immediate operating impact.
- Vini Research Desk rates ACEN a Buy, about 18% upside to our ₱3.30 fair value.
The Setup
Following Abagat Energy’s exit in Pagbilao, Quezon over land acquisition challenges, SolarAce2 relinquished its Botolan, Zambales solar contract on September 17 because of site access constraints. Neither subsidiary had begun commercial operations, and ACEN says the cancellations have no material effect on operations. ACEN closed at ₱2.80 on September 21, down 6.67% over one month but 24.4% above its 52-week low of ₱2.25 on September 24, 2025. Our momentum read on ACEN is Bullish.

Our Read
At a market capitalization of ₱114.66 billion, the investment case still rests on converting viable projects into cash-generating assets, not retaining contracts on inaccessible sites.
Vini Research Desk rates ACEN a Buy, seeing about 18% upside to our fair value of ₱3.30. Avoiding further commitments to constrained sites can support future capital appreciation, benefiting holders of the Smart Momentum Quant Plan.
What We're Watching
- Any exit-related charges in ACEN’s next quarterly results
- Site readiness of projects reaching their next investment decision
