The Setup

Enterprise connectivity and wider reach keep TEL’s operating case in focus. TSKI’s move to tap PLDT Enterprise for a connectivity upgrade highlights the continuing need for dependable digital infrastructure among business customers, where network quality, coverage and service execution matter as much as pricing. Enterprise connectivity can deepen customer relationships and support more resilient revenue streams than a purely consumer-led mobile proposition.

At the same time, Cignal’s partnership with Smart and TNT expands the reach of its content offering through PLDT’s broader wireless distribution ecosystem. The development underscores the value of TEL’s network assets beyond core access: connectivity, content and distribution can reinforce one another as customers increasingly expect bundled digital services.

The market has yet to assign much credit for that operating breadth. TEL is trading near its 52-week low of ₱1,080.00 reached on Oct. 16, 2025, with the current ₱1,140.00 price only 5.6% above that level and down 6.48% over the past month. Net foreign selling has added to the cautious near-term tone, even as the wider sector continues to commit substantial capital to network infrastructure.

Our Read

We see the enterprise upgrade and expanded Cignal distribution as practical evidence that TEL’s platforms remain commercially relevant across multiple customer segments. For PLDT Enterprise, connectivity upgrades can create opportunities to provide broader managed services over time. For Smart and TNT, adding content reach can help strengthen engagement across a large prepaid-led base without changing the core role of the mobile network.

The key investment point is not that either development alone changes earnings, but that both support the strategic utility of TEL’s fixed and wireless infrastructure. This matters in a market where network spending remains elevated and competition for household, enterprise and digital-service customers is persistent. Execution will determine whether greater reach translates into higher-value customer relationships and steadier cash generation.

The Vanguard AI rates TEL a Buy, seeing about 34% upside to our fair value of ₱1522.50. These connectivity and distribution initiatives support future dividend growth and capital appreciation, which benefits holders of the Passive Income Plan.

What We're Watching

  • Whether enterprise connectivity wins broaden into recurring managed-network and digital-service revenue.
  • Customer adoption and retention from Cignal’s availability through Smart and TNT channels.
  • Industry capital-spending intensity and its effect on margins, free cash flow and returns.
  • Whether foreign selling eases as TEL demonstrates sustained operating delivery.
